New Year, New Goals

This year has started off great so far.  We had a few unexpected hiccups at the end of 2012, but we're working them out and God has a plan for us!  I set some goals I want to accomplish this year.  I really don't like using the whole "New Years Resolution" term, because most of the time, we break those! :)  However, through prayer and talks with the hubby, several things have been placed on my heart that I need to change or do.

My first goal is to continue my weight loss journey, and really stay motivated!  I have great friends who are helping me stay motivated and I have started to really be strict about meal planning so I eliminate eating crap!  Good news is that I have hubby on board with eating healthier as well, so no more dual meals at dinner time! Yay! :)

My second goal is to start once a month grocery shopping!  Huh? Yup!  I spent several hours researching the best ways to do it and I came up with a good plan!  I made a list of a whole months worth of meals. Last night, I looked through my cabinets and pantry and marked off the things I already have, and things I needed to purchase. Then, I searched through the ads to see where the best deals were and looked through my coupons to see if I had any I could use. Walmart price matches everything! (Produce, milk, meat, you name it!)  Normally, I loathe Walmart!  Today, I loved them! LOL I went with my lists, price matched everything, and only spent $103! It took me 2 hours of prep time, but my deep freezer now holds enough dinner meals for the rest of January!

My third goal is to potty train the little firecracker this month!  She will be 2 in March so it's early yet, however she shows all the signs of readiness so I think we can at least try!  I won a free HouseParty so I'm getting a package next week from Pull-ups with tons of goodies to help me train my baby girl!

My fourth goal is to really dedicate time to my business, Thirty-One!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product and our Spring line!  (I already have a list of things I am buying at tax time!) haha I have been a consultant since October but I haven't really been putting in as much effort as I would like to!  I'm currently looking for people to host online parties (you get AMAZING hostess benefits!!!) so let me know if you are interested!!!

Those are just some of my goals!  Of course, I am always praying and striving to be a better Christian, a better wife, and a better mother!  As long as at the end of each day I can sit down and say, "I did my very best to love God, my husband, my children, and others."  I will be happy.  I absolutely love The Busy Homeschool Mom and this blog she posted yesterday was very inspiring to me!  Anyhow, I hope everyone is having a very blessed, safe weekend!!!

We've had family in town, and I haven't been able to log in or post. I also, have not been able to get on Pinterest, so I feel I'm having withdrawal symptoms! Today's focus is getting my house in order! I'm cleaning and making a fresh loaf of homemade bread! Hope everyone is having an awesome Tuesday!

Keys!!

I went to Harris Teeter today for Super Doubles.  I got some awesome deals! That's a whole different story though! I took all three of my monkeys children with me, and as usual it was an adventure.  Upon returning home, I asked my son to take the keys, and unlock the door.  I gave him the exact key needed.  I walk up to the door, toddler on my hip, grocery bags in my hands, only to see Nathan standing by the door keys in hand.

Me: Nathan, why isn't the door open.
Nathan: Umm because I dropped them, and I don't know which key is the right one.  I'm only 5, mom.
Me: Yes. I'm well aware.

So, I made a mental note to buy some of those key color covers.  Until I logged into pinterest and found this idea! Nail polish to color code your keys! Why haven't I thought of that?  So here is my before/after! Easy peasey! ;)

(Yes, it does match my nails! I'm obsessed with my new polish Mint Madness!)
