Homemade Dishwasher Soap

I went to Walmart about an hour ago, and while in line I kinda giggled to myself.  I feel like Susie Homemaker. ;) I went to buy flour to make homemade bread (which tastes amazing FYI) and to buy the ingredients for today's "project", Homemade Dishwasher Soap.  Like so many of my latest genius ideas, I found a great recipe on Pinterest.  Here's the ingredients list:

1 Cup Washer Powder/or Baking Soda
1 Cup of Borax
1/2 Cup Salt
2 packets of Kool Aid Lemonaid

And you use vinegar as a rinse aid (I put it in the little thing that you would put Jet wash in)

That's it. You mix all the ingredients and add 1 to 2 tablespoons per load, and you're good to go.  I doubled the "recipe" and put it in a pretty jar I bought at walmart for $4.

Blessed Sunday

Homemade IPad Cover

So a friend of mine made her own iPad cover this week, which inspired another friend and I to make some as well. I have a sewing machine but have never sewn anything lol.  We found several tutorials before moving ahead.  I have an iPad 3 by the way, and I have a leather case over it, I just wanted an extra cover. Plus, it's pretty! ;)

Here's what we used:

1 yard of fabric (We really only needed less than half, but purchased extra to have room for error.)
Batting
Thread

All we did was lay our iPads on the fabric and cut out a rectangle.  Repeat with the batting.  Then, sew the edges together.

Here's my final product:

Not bad for an amateur, eh?

PS. Here's a few links to some better tutorials:

Lucky Me

So I don't know if I've mentioned this enough, but I'm a very blessed girl. ;) I have an amazing hubby!! I showed him a vinyl quote I wanted for my newly organized laundry room, and he made me one at work! He then came home on his LUNCH BREAK to apply it for me.  I love this man!

He makes these and sells them as a side job! If you're interested in a custom made vinyl, leave me a comment with your email address. ;)

Laundry Room Organizing

Okay so my laundry room has pretty much been taken over by garbage, boxes with "papers to shred" (according to Joel) and a ton of dust/lint.  It's gotten so bad, I just keep the door shut and hope I don't need anything from in there when I have guests. LOL I finally had it though and cleaned it up today.

First, I saw someone on Pinterest who used a diaper box and colorful duck tape to make a storage bin. Perfect, because I have a ton of diaper/wipe boxes. ;)

Thought I'd Share

I love this! It's part of my new morning routine!!

Skinny Frappes? Yes, Please!

So, one of the things I might mention a lot is that I am on a journey to lose some serious weight.  I've lost eleven pounds so far, and have a long way to go.  I work out a lot with "Gym Buddy" at Planet Fitness.  Anyways, I am constantly looking for healthy (healthier) recipes, and today I think I hit the jackpot!  Skinny Vanilla Mocha Frappes and Skinny Strawberries and Cream Frappes!  I was on Pinterest (of course) when I came across this picture:

Looks amazing, right?! It has "Calories: 43.3, Fat: 0, Sodium: 65, Carbs: 7, Sugar: 6, Protein: 4.2" and the Strawberry one has "Calories per 1 1/2 cups: 83.6, Fat: 5.2, Sodium: 151, Potassium: 114, Carbs: 6.9, Sugar: 4.6, Protein: .04" according to Peanut Butter and Peppers (a really cool blog!)

These are perfect for the summer! Enjoy!!

Summertime, fun time

First off, this is my "first blog post" on this blog.  I've had a LiveJournal, and a mini coupon blog I was contributing to with friends.  I love to write, and I love to write about a million things so here it is.
I am a lucky woman.  I have been blessed with an amazing husband, Joel, and three amazing children.  Isabella is six and a half, and is my genius.  She is clever, intelligent, and gorgeous.  Nathan is our strong, handsome, brilliant five year old.  And then there is Arianna.  That girl is a whole different kind of awesome.  She is our 16 month old firecracker.  She's beautiful, funny, and has an attitude that I'll assume she got from daddy. ;) (Well, she might've gotten it from me but shhh...)
We are Christians and attend an awesome church.  God has helped us in ways we never thought possible and continues to open doors in our lives.  I'm a firm believer in faith and hope. I am a domestic engineer, and I love organizing, decorating, and trying new things.  Pinterest is my bff. haha
This summer is passing by quickly! I've been putting together a list of activities I want to do with my kids before school starts back up in September.  The Taylor House  (A blog I really love!) had this:

summer bucket list

And, I thought, "What a great idea!" I'm going to borrow some of the things off her list, and create my own.  This should be fun!  If anyone has any cool summer fun ideas, please leave them in the comments section!!
